Job Posting: The "Green Flags" That Make You Want to Apply

Here are the "green flags" in job postings that make you want to apply:

1. The salary range is listed
. It is rare for job postings to include the salary right in the job description; this shows that a transparent compensation policy has been established and that salaries are not set arbitrarily.

2. The job description is clear and to the point
—your future employer is less likely to expect you to do the work of three people or to be a “Swiss Army knife” if the company has a good understanding of your field, the skills expected of you, and the scope of your position

3. The recruitment process is described at
. This allows candidates to quickly decide whether to apply by weighing the “length of the process” against their “motivation for the position.”
As candidates, our time is precious and our nerves are often on edge, so even the smallest bit of information that provides some clarity about the weeks ahead is welcome.

4. Work schedules aren't off-limits
Posting work schedules is very rare, yet it shows that the hiring company doesn't want to keep things vague in order to overwork you; it respects your time and your work-life balance

5. A clear policy on remote work
Whether or not remote work is permitted within the company, the topic must be addressed in the job posting: How often, under what conditions, and for whom exactly? And if it is not addressed, why not?

6. A company's turnover
—the number of employees who leave and join the company relative to the total number of employees over the course of a year—is a good indicator of a company's health.

7. Corporate Commitment
: We certify companies that disclose their gender equality index in their job postings and/or display a label attesting to their environmentally responsible practices
